Arkansas Traveler was a brand of boat made by the Southwest Manufacturing Co. of Little Rock, Arkansas, from 1954 to about 1967. Southwest Manufacturing Co., a division of the Standard Railway Equipment Manufacturing Company, manufactured utility, small working and leisure boats in both aluminum and fiberglass, power by outboard motors. The company had manufacturing plants in Danville, Illinois, Little Rock, Adams, Wisconsin via subsidiary company Traveler Manufacturing Co., Ltd, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The 1960 product line included utility boats from 9 to 14 feet LOA, sport utility and sport runabouts from 14 to 16 feet LOA, and day cruisers from 15 to 18 feet in length. Construction techniques used included through hull riveting with pounded rivets. The boats were available in a variety of configurations ranging from bare bones outboard with tiller controlled direction to units with a center console and windscreen.
